Cody Johnson Delivers Impromptu Performance Of “The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air” After His Band’s Instruments Stops Working

Country Music

The show must go on.

Cody Johnson puts on one of the best live shows out there right now. And even when his band’s equipment stops working, you’re still going to get your money’s worth.

The trouble started when all of the instruments in Cody’s band went out in the middle of a cover of the Charlie Daniels classic “Long Haired Country Boy” during a recent concert in Fort Worth. But he still had the drums and his microphone, so he just finished the song acapella – and then did a little improv.

CoJo showed off his rapping skills and busted out his version of the theme song to “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” before taking it back a little more country with the theme song to “The Beverly Hillbillies” before turning the mic over to his bass player Joey Pruski to fill some time – and show off his bars – with an impressive version of Young MC’s “Bust a Move.”

Luckily they finally got the rest of the instruments working so the band could finish the show, but not gonna lie, I wouldn’t have minded to see them keep it going a little longer.

What other tricks does CoJo have up his sleeve?

Here’s another pretty good medley from Cody – a medley of actual country songs:
