Throwback To Luke Combs’ Cover Of John Mellencamp’s “Jack & Diane” At Billy Bob’s Texas

Country Music

Nothing like a little heartland rock to get you goin’ on a Thursday morning.

We’re taking it back to Luke Combs’ honky tonk days at the iconic Billy Bob’s Texas. I still haven’t made it down to Billy Bob’s yet, but it’s definitely on the list of places I want to visit in the near future. If there is a country music bucket list of venues you need to check out before you die, Billy Bob’s is on there.

Back in 2016, Luke kicked off his band intros with a performance of John Mellencamp’s “Jack & Diane,” sprinkling in some of Springsteen’s “Glory Days,” and a Rowdy Rob performance of Tom Petty’s “American Girl” before finishing with “Jack & Diane” again.

Flash-forward to today and Luke is the biggest thing in country music, selling out arenas all over the country. Or, at least he will be when country music gets back to touring again.

Man, I miss live music…
